Security of funds

Worldwide Currencies, as an authorised payment institution, is required to safeguard clients' relevant funds and such funds for clients in the UK and the Rest of the World are segregated from the firm's own funds in a safeguarding account at Barclays. This differs for our clients based in the EU where funds are safeguarded by our FCA-regulated e-money partners at a credit institution.

When paying for a trade, all funds are internally segregated and held securely within a client account at one of our banking providers.

Currency Cloud

When funds are credited to your account, electronic money (e-money) is issued in exchange by an authorised Electronic Money Institution with whom we partner, namely Currencycloud. In accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, Currencycloud safeguards your funds. This means that the monetary value behind your account balance is held at a reputable financial institution and is protected in the event of insolvency of either Currencycloud or ourselves. Currencycloud ceases safeguarding your funds once the money has been successfully transferred from your account to the intended beneficiary's account.

We are fully authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority under the Payment Services Regulations 2017 (registration 525361) for the provision of payment services. We are also registered MSB with HM Revenue & Customs (registration 12242572) and members of the IAMTN (International Association of Money Transfer Networks).
